‘I don't know how': Tony Bellew absolutely baffled by what Farhad Moshiri has done at done at Everton

Everton have endured one of the Premier League’s most notoriously poor ownerships in modern memory.

After all, few have managed to take such a great, historic club, inject untold riches into it, and somehow drag it to the brink of extinction.

This season has seen administration threatened almost constantly given the financial peril Farhad Moshiri’s misguided spending has plunged them into, and rightly, fans are furious.

Even the potential buyers whom he is seeking to offload the club to have only added to the unrest, as an eight-month-long process remains no closer to completion.

Tony Bellew rants about Farhad Moshiri

Speaking live on talkSPORT just yesterday, the former WBC Cruiserweight champion of the world and staunch Evertonian was unsurprisingly left furious with the state his football club is currently in.

Attempting to assess the Toffees’ win over Nottingham Forest, his passion got the better of him, and he swiftly devolved into a rant aimed solely at Moshiri.

He first sought to praise Sean Dyche: ‘He had no money to spend, he’s still got no money to spend, he’s grinding out results, he’s playing with seven different manager’s players. He’s playing will three directors of football. He’s playing with two chairmen’s [players]. That’s what’s gone on at Everton for the last seven years.

‘This is what happens when people out there think that if you can just throw money at it you’ll fix it. You can’t just throw money at problems to fix them. You’ve got to find the right people and give them the money.

‘You can’t just give every Tom, Dick and Harry every penny you’ve got and expect them to turn water into wine. It’s not going to work. Find the right people for the right jobs.

‘We are an absolute dog poo show of what can go wrong in football. Everton Football Club have spent half a billion pounds and got worse. That is like… I don’t know how that’s happened but it has happened.

‘Look at the team seven years ago and look at the team now. In my genuine opinion, and for what I know, one person would get in that team.

‘This is what happens when you give numptys money. This is why football needs to be sanctioned properly.’

Everton’s takeover continues to drag on

Soon, Bellew will hopefully not have to worry about Moshiri anymore, with the takeover supposedly drawing nearer.

That was, until recent reports suggested that Everton had actually started looking elsewhere for buyers, seemingly fed up with waiting around for 777 Partners to stump up the necessary cash.

Qatari investors are just one of many Middle-Eastern options being explored, which should certainly pique Evertonians’ interests.

But with the Miami-based firm still in the race as far as we’re aware, this really has been a mess of a process that has dominated the entire campaign.
