Simon Cowell’s look is one recognizable the world around. The music mogul has been donning the same sort of outfits for years as he heads up some of the best-known talent shows going. If anything, a ‘starter pack’ could’ve been created for Simon. It would have to include a tight black t-shirt, trousers, and a pair of dark aviator shades – that was until Simon Cowell brought out his new red glasses on BGT.
Britain’s Got Talent is back. The talent contest kicked off series 17 on April 20. Simon is joined by his fellow hosts Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli this year. Much remains the same on BGT this year, many zany acts are gracing the stage, and Ant and Dec return to host. But one new thing fans can’t stop wondering about is why Simon is wearing a new pair of colored specs.

As a fresh Britain’s Got Talent series begins, all eyes are on the auditions.
Amanda, Alesha, Bruno, and Simon are all poised, holding their hands over their buzzers as acts take to the stage.
Many of the auditionees so far have captured the audience’s attention, and so has Simon Cowell‘s new accessory.
He’s wearing a pair of glasses on the show with red lenses. No, it’s not a fashion statement, but Simon is wearing the specs for health reasons.
Given how Sharon Osbourne said how Simon had “dressed the same for probably three decades” while in the Big Brother house, it makes sense he wouldn’t just dramatically switch up his look like that.
He doesn’t have a ‘mystery illness’
Back in February, Simon addressed rumors about him having a “mystery illness.”
Sharing a snap of himself wearing his trademark top and new red glasses, he captioned the post: “I just found out according to the internet, I have a ‘mystery illness’.
“For anyone concerned, I missed two auditions at the end of one day, two weeks ago, because I do get migraines after long days in the filming lights… PS. This is why I wear these glasses!”
Fans were “thankful” for the star taking to Instagram to share why he was wearing the new glasses. More shared how they also experience “chronic migraines” and showed sympathy for Simon’s health woes.
