The record Arsenal broke in their first half against Chelsea in the Premier League last night

Arsenal completely dominated Chelsea in their Premier League clash last night at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners won 5-0, piling yet more misery on an under pressure Mauricio Pochettino in the Blues’ hotseat.

The Argentine saw his side pick up their biggest defeat since he took over, and yet more supporters seem to lose faith that he is the man to lead them into the project.

Chelsea fans bring Thomas Tuchel banner to the Emirates

Away fans in North London last night were sporting a banner in support of former manager Thomas Tuchel, perhaps hinting that they are looking to return to those days again.

Defensively the Blues have really struggled this season, and this became clear in the first few minutes, when Djordje Petrovic was beaten early on.

They continued giving up plenty of chances, with their opponents having 13 shots on goal in the first half alone.

Arsenal have their most first half shots in Premier League history

According to Squawka Live, that amount of shots was actually the most the Gunners have had in the first half of a Premier League game since records began.

While he will have been disappointed with the first goal going through his legs, Petrovic actually did well to keep the score to a modest five conceded.

The magnitude of defeat will be something that disappointed the most last night, with the players who featured not doing well in their quest to prove they could perform in Cole Palmer’s absence.

The 21-year-old was missing for the first time in a while last night, and the only question that came out of the game was when he would be back to feature again.

The Argentine had a chance to feature Carney Chukwuemeka from the start in his absence, however he did not play any minutes for the second big game in a row in a really concerning selection by Pochettino yet again last night.
