Ben White sends ‘massive’ message to Man City and Liverpool after Arsenal beat Chelsea

Arsenal star Ben White has now sent a message to the Gunners’ Premier League title rivals, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Arsenal were able to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a 5-0 thrashing of Chelsea on Tuesday night.

The pressure is now on Manchester City and Liverpool to respond to the standard that the North London club have set. As things stand, before the Reds take on Everton in the Merseyside derby this evening and the reigning champions travel to face Brighton tomorrow, the Gunners hold a three point lead at the top of the table.

Liverpool have one game in hand, whilst Manchester City hold two. Pep Guardiola’s men are currently four points away from pole position. Mikel Arteta is in the enviable position of already having points on the board.

Arsenal are not in control of this title race. If Manchester City win all of their remaining games then they will win the league regardless of what the Gunners do. Right now, though, Arsenal are doing all they can to take this race right down to the wire.

Arsenal star Ben White sends message to Liverpool and Manchester City

Ben White has now thrown down the gauntlet to the Gunners’ title rivals.

Speaking to BBC 5 Live in the wake of Arsenal’s statement win over Chelsea, the right back was asked if that result sent a “message” to Liverpool and Manchester City.

White said “Yeah, I guess. Obviously it was a massive game. I bet they were all watching, so it’s in our control and we need to do what we need to do.”

Arsenal must now carry Chelsea form into Spurs clash

Arsenal can only control their own results, and Arteta will be reinforcing the message to his squad that they must take things one game at a time. Arsenal will next be in action on Sunday when they are set to face their fierce local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.

Spurs will be determined to do all they can to halt Arsenal’s title charge. Arteta’s side will need to be at their best once again to get the three points they need from that fixture.

Arsenal have plenty of players in excellent form right now. Martin Odegaard dazzled with his creativity against Chelsea. Kai Havertz came back to haunt his former club with a well-taken brace. Thomas Partey was able to take Arteta’s midfield unit to another level alongside Declan Rice. Meanwhile, White himself thrilled Arsenal fans with two goals of his own.
