Ally McCoist calls Piers Morgan ‘unbearable’ after Arsenal 5-0 Chelsea celebrations

Former Scotland striker Ally McCoist has now taken a swipe at broadcaster and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan.

The mood amongst Arsenal fans is currently extremely high.

The Gunners are currently top of the Premier League table having thrashed Chelsea 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Mikel Arteta’s side put on a scintillating attacking display against their capital city rivals. Martin Odegaard mesmerised Arsenal fans with his creativity, whilst Kai Havertz came back to haunt his former club as he netted a brace.

Arsenal will have received a huge boost from this result, and belief and confidence levels will both be sky-high in the dressing room right now. Whilst they aren’t in control of this title race, they sent a message to Liverpool and Manchester City with this statement victory. The pressure is now on those two clubs to catch up with the North London outfit.

Piers Morgan confronts Ally McCoist with bold Arsenal statement

Piers Morgan was certainly delighted by this triumph. He gave his verdict on the win on talksSPORT by singing a rendition of the popular Havertz chant, before stating “we collapsed at this time last year…the big fear was that we would go right back to where we were last year, choking again…we rallied back in spectacular fashion, gave Chelsea the biggest stuffing we’ve ever given them in our entire lives, and we looked absolutely magnificent.

“Look, we are four points clear of City. They’ve got to catch us…the idea that they get win after win after win six times, not happening. We are going to win our last four games. City are going to choke…we, after twenty years of pain, are going to be Premier League champions!”

Ally McCoist mocked the presenter, saying “you’re normally bullish about Arsenal at the best of times, but I did have a feeling you would be unbearable this morning.”

What Arsenal must do now

No one can blame Arsenal fans for dreaming of glory at a time like this. Paul Merson recently claimed Arsenal’s title dream to be dead and buried, but it is very much still alive and kicking.

The Gunners know what they must do now. The task ahead of them is simple, even if it isn’t easy. They must win all of their remaining matches, starting with Sunday’s North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

If they can take maximum point from their final four outings, they will take this title race to the wire. If that doesn’t prove enough to see them crowned champions, then at the very least the progress they have made under Arteta will be “obvious.”
