‘Terrific’ Liverpool loanee just got one step closer to winning a league title, he’s one to watch - opinion

There’s a Liverpool loanee who just gone on step closer to winning a league title, he’s definitely one to keep an eye on.

On Wednesday night, Liverpool’s hopes and dreams were dealt a crushing blow. There will be no fairy tale ending to Jurgen Klopp’s reign as manager.

As Everton beat Liverpool 2-0 at Goodison Park, the Reds definitely surrendered all hope of winning the Premier League this season.

But while all of that was going on in England, in Austria one of Liverpool’s 22-year-old loan stars came one step closer to winning a historic league title for his temporary club.

What Vitezslav Jaros did on Wednesday night with Sturm Graz

That Liverpool loanee was Vitezslav Jaros. He is currently on loan at Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga, and last night his side capitalised on Red Bull Salzburg’s 4-3 defeat.

Sturm Graz beat Rapid Wien 3-1 away from home, with Jaros pulling off some great stops to go three points clear at the top of the Austrian Bundesliga table.

Next up, Sturm Graz will play Red Bull Salzburg at the weekend. If Jaros’ side can avoid defeat in that game or even secure a victory, they will go into the last three games of the season as the firm favourites to win the league title.

This could also be the first time in 10 years that Red Bull Salzburg didn’t win the Austrian Bundesliga. And this season Jaros’ side are fighting for a double, having qualified to the final of the Austrian Cup, by beating Red Bull Salzburg 4-3 in the semi-finals.

Does Vitezslav Jaros have a future at Liverpool?

During the last few months Jaros has definitely made himself a contender to be Liverpool’s number two.

The Czech goalkeeper caught the eye at the U21 Euros last year with his ‘terrific’ performances according to one journalist.

And he’s made strides at Sturm Graz, catching the eye in the Europa Conference League and also earning his first call-up to the senior Czech national team.

At 22-years-old, he is definitely ready for the next step, and with Caoimhin Kelleher potentially leaving for pastures new, Jaros could be his perfect replacement.
