Liverpool scouts will have loved what £40m target just did for his club, they should buy him

Liverpool scouts will have been impressed by what the club’s £40m target did on the pitch recently

There are no two ways about it, things are going to be different around Anfield starting this summer. Michael Edwards’ return to FSG will herald a new era for the club.

It will also culminate with the departure of Jurgen Klopp and most of his backroom staff. After nine years at the club, it’s not going to be the same.

A new manager and a new coaching staff will come in. We are going to see a different philosophy and new ideas evolving at Liverpool.

That will mean there will be changes in Liverpool’s playing squad as well. New players will be recruited this summer. Some will already be on the club’s radar.

Luis Guilherme did something Liverpool scouts will love

One player who has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time is Brazilian Luis Guilherme. The teenager has come through the ranks at Palmeiras’ impressive academy.

He was teammates with the sensational Endrick, and Guilherme is also really highly rated. He’s been playing senior football from a young age, and that’s one of the reasons why Liverpool scouts have followed his development closely.

Guilherme is predominantly an attacker. But he can also play in various other roles in midfield and even as a wing-back, which makes him a very versatile player for his age.

What’s been missing from his game is goals. But on Wednesday night, he followed that up as well by scoring his first ever senior goal for Palmeiras with a wonderful strike in the final minute against Independiente del Valle.

It’s the kind of movement that is bound to have impressed scouts watching on from the stands.

Could Liverpool sign Luis Guilherme in the summer?

He is reportedly valued at £40m by Brazilian club, which is a lot for someone who just scored his first professional goal.

However, Guilherme’s ability to take players on and play in so many different roles makes him a really exciting prospect.

Someone who could definitely be worth taking a gamble on. Although it remains to be seen whether Edwards and co deem him worth the risk.

He’s definitely one to watch in the summer. Liverpool haven’t really dipped into the South American market under Klopp. But perhaps that could now change.
