'Phenomenal' 20-year-old may now miss upcoming game against Arsenal following red card

Arsenal have four games remaining as they chase the Premier League title, and will also be reliant on Manchester City dropping points.

Mikel Arteta’s side will likely need to be perfect in these final games if they are to win a first title since 2004, and there is no room for error in each remaining match.

Whilst trips to Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United appear to be the most daunting games remaining, a home clash against Bournemouth could prove to be tricky, with the Cherries giving Arsenal a scare last season before the Gunners came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

Andoni Iraola’s side will not be easy to beat at the Emirates, but it is a game that Arsenal will need to win no matter what. However, they have now been handed a boost, as the visitors will be missing a key player for the game.

Milos Kerkez will miss Arsenal v Bournemouth after red card

Bournemouth recorded an impressive 1-0 victory away at Wolves last night, and this becomes even more impressive when considering that the visiting side ended the game with 10 men.

Left-back Milos Kerkez was given a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Matt Doherty, which saw him fly into the Wolves player with his studs up.

This gives him an automatic three-match ban, and he will miss games against Brighton, Arsenal and Brentford.

Bukayo Saka will now be facing a different player on the right side, and with Kerkez impressing this season, this may be a boost for Arsenal.

Bournemouth to appeal Milos Kerkez red card before Arsenal clash

Iraola has confirmed that the club will appeal the Kerkez red card, and if they are successful, he would have his suspension rescinded before Bournemouth come to the Emirates.

“I have seen the replay. Obviously Milos arrives late, but I don’t think it’s dangerous,” Iraola stated.

“To miss three games because of this foul, for me is too harsh and I suppose we will appeal.”

The 20-year-old was described as “phenomenal” after impressing for Hungary against Czech Republic last September, and Bournemouth will have a tougher time against Arsenal if they are to be without a key defender.

Kerkez has made 32 appearances for Bournemouth across all competitions this season, and started in Arsenal’s 4-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the campaign.
