Big update on Bowen and West Ham duo for Liverpool

There has been a big update on the availability of Jarrod Bowen and another West Ham duo for the clash with Liverpool.

Everyone has seen this season that when West Ham are without certain players they simply don’t win.

Little old Liverpool are up next for the Hammers – so it’s clear they need all their key stars available.

Lose and the season is well and truly over for West Ham and Liverpool as both try to rescue their fading Premier League hopes.

Victory is the only answer to reignite the run-in for the Hammers and Reds.

In the last few weeks West Ham look to have thrown away a glorious opportunity to qualify for Europe for a fourth consecutive season.

Correspondingly Liverpool’s title challenge has faded after defeats to Palace and Everton of late.

Last chance saloon for West Ham and Liverpool hopes

Humbled at Palace themselves last week, now three wins and a draw are realistically needed from their last four games to qualify for Europe.

Equally Liverpool must look to win all theirs and hope Man City and Arsenal slip up.

It means David Moyes and Jurgen Klopp still have plenty to play for if they can rally their players.

So the pair go head-to-head at the London Stadium, maybe for the last time.

As the world knows Klopp is leaving Liverpool this summer and Moyes is now expected to depart West Ham.

Clarity will be forthcoming soon enough on that front for both it seems.

Until then, there’s a big game to play and Hammers fans will be hoping to have some key players back.

Big update on availability of Bowen and duo for Liverpool

Nayef Aguerd is not in that bracket but he joined Konstantinos Mavropanos and top scorer Jarrod Bowen on the missing list for the humbling at Palace.

True to form when without one or two key players, Moyes’ side crumpled.

West Ham will have had five-and-a-half days to recover compared to Liverpool’s two-and-a-half following defeat at Everton.

So will that enable any or all of West Ham’s injured trio to make it back in time for the Reds?

Well there’s been a big update on the availability of Bowen and another West Ham duo for Liverpool.

In the official preview for the game from West Ham, it states that Mavropanos and Aguerd will both be assessed ahead of kick-off before a decision is made.

But the club were, worryingly, non-committal on Bowen.

“Top-scorer Jarrod Bowen is set to be assessed ahead of the visit of Liverpool, having completed the full 90 minutes of West Ham’s UEFA Europa League quarter-final second leg at home to Bayer Leverkusen, but then subsequently missed last weekend’s defeat at Crystal Palace,” the official site states.

“Defenders Dinos Mavropanos and Nayef Aguerd also sat out the trip to Selhurst Park through injury, and are set to be checked by manager David Moyes and his medical team before kick-off on Saturday.”

No sign of trio in training video

Video has been shared on YouTube by West Ham’s media team of training ahead of Liverpool.

And the bad news is there’s no sign of Bowen, Mavropanos or Aguerd in the footage, which you can see below.

Less than 48 hours out from the game, that does not bode well.

Number one goalkeeper was in the video, though, so he may well come back into the side.

Meanwhile Klopp has made a big statement about West Ham ahead of the game.

But he’s got it oh so wrong.
