'Gone already': 22-year-old is now almost certain to leave Chelsea in the summer - journalist

It is set to be a summer of exits for Chelsea because of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

They have spent so much money in recent transfer windows, the club now appear to be in a position where they have to offload players.

With this season being a disastrous one, some supporters may not mind a clearout.

Chelsea find themselves in ninth place with not too many Premier League games left to play.

There is a strong possibility, then, that they miss out on European football again after finishing in 12th last term.

Chelsea player ‘gone already’

There are quite a few players who look likely to leave Stamford Bridge as things stand, such as Conor Gallagher.

The midfielder’s contract expires in 2025 and Chelsea will not want to lose him for free.

Gallagher could yet stay if he puts pen to paper on a new deal, but one man who definitely appears to be on his way out of Chelsea is Armando Broja.

The striker is already out on loan and journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Substack that sources are saying that he is “gone already”.

A permanent move to Fulham, however, looks unlikely, as the 22-year-old has not even started a game there yet despite joining Chelsea’s west London rivals in January.

Chelsea’s mismanagement of Armando Broja

Chelsea have got this whole Broja thing wrong. In the summer, it could make sense to sell the Albania international.

If they go out and buy a top striker, which they are expected to do, that forward and Nicolas Jackson should be enough for Mauricio Pochettino next season.

However, the fact that Jackson is the only recognised striker in Pochettino’s squad right now shows that Chelsea should not have loaned Broja out.

With Broja barely playing for Fulham, Chelsea probably could have made much better use of him.
