£30m Chelsea star tells supporter that he will not be fit for this weekend’s game vs Aston Villa

One Chelsea player looks as if he is not going to be fit enough to feature this weekend in the Premier League.

According to ChelseaFanTV, one player informed them that he is targeting a return for the London derby against West Ham.

The injury crisis has continued to hit Chelsea hard in the latter stages of the season, with them missing a number of key players on multiple occasions.

Their last outing against Arsenal saw them without Cole Palmer, and the 5-0 defeat they were the recipients of was perhaps a sign of just how important he is to them right now.

Another player who was missing for that game was Malo Gusto, with him recently being forced off in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City.

The Frenchman has been one of the shining lights for the Blues since the loan back to France ended after his £30m move to Chelsea was confirmed.

His injury left the Blues without any recognised right-backs, seeing Alfie Gilchrist make his first start for the club there against Arsenal.

Many will have been hoping that he was able to come back into the fray in time for the big game against Aston Villa tomorrow.

However, according to ChelseaFanTV, he is now expected to make his return in May, with the target currently being the Premier League fixture against West Ham.

His absence at the weekend will see Mauricio Pochettino need to return to the drawing board when it comes to player selection in terms of who will start on the right of his defence.

Gilchrist performed adequately at the Emirates, however the Argentine could be inclined to shift Axel Disasi out to that side for this weekend.

This would perhaps allow him to recall the central defensive duo that performed so well in the FA Cup semi-final, with both Trevoh Chalobah and Thiago Silva nowhere to be seen from the start on Tuesday across London.
