Daniel Levy’s plans for the summer transfer window revealed if Tottenham don’t finish top four

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy’s plans for the summer transfer window have now been revealed.

This summer will provide Ange Postecoglou with his third transfer window since arriving in north London last year.

A lot of positive work has been done at Tottenham over the last 12 months or so with the Australian providing a lot of positive change.

Finishing in the top four may now be extremely difficult for the Lilywhites now Aston Villa have opened the gap, but it has still been a season of progression.

It has to be remembered there were very low expectations from some as to what Tottenham could achieve this season.

The loss of Harry Kane was one of the main factors behind the skepticism many had but Spurs have shown there is life beyond their club record goalscorer.

And now the summer transfer window will allow Daniel Levy the opportunity to help his manager close in on the top four and even the title contenders.

With Champions League football now looking unlikely, an insight into what the chairman will provide Postecoglou has now been revealed.

Daniel Levy’s plans for the summer transfer window at Tottenham may surprise some fans

The work done over Postecoglou’s first two transfer windows has been seriously impressive with many of the arrivals playing big roles in the season.

Perhaps the two standout signings have been Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario.

The pair arrived from Europe with not many people aware of just how good they were going to be with the duo having transformed the Tottenham defence.

There have been other impressive additions but those two have demonstrated the development of the club’s recruitment system.

Postecoglou has previously said Champions League will not define what level of player Spurs go for this summer.

And according to The Guardian, Levy is going to back Postecoglou with significant funds this summer with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium not churning out the revenue.

The report claims not qualifying for the Champions League is unlikely to alter the budget much at all with the stadium now turning out to be a real game-changer for Spurs.

Spurs have already shown over the last two windows that they do not need to spend huge money on players with Van de Ven costing in the region of £43m.

But knowing Postecoglou has the backing of Levy following his first term in charge is a really important message going into the new season.

How the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has changed this summer’s transfer plans

Tottenham’s latest financial report was revealed just a matter of weeks ago and there was certainly some interesting points to take from it.

The main one was how much revenue the stadium had churned out through the numerous events which take place in it outside of football.

With everything combined, for the first time in the club’s history, Tottenham were able to boast a revenue of more than £500m.

However, Levy’s salary and bonus was also revealed in the report which will have left many Spurs fans stunned after the club finished just eighth last season.
