Tottenham summer target who Pep Guardiola hailed ‘exceptional’ is now set to leave his current club

Tottenham Hotspur have now been put on red alert after learning one of their summer targets is to leave in the summer window.

Plans may already be in place for the north London club ahead of the summer with Ange Postecoglou looking to continue the fine work done since his appointment.

Daniel Levy has certainly handed the Australian his backing over the opening two transfer windows of Postecoglou’s reign.

But there is clearly still a lot of work which can still be done at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Recent results against Newcastle United and Fulham would suggest just that as Champions League qualification now looks extremely unlikely.

Although the sale of Harry Kane is still yet to be covered with the signing of a new striker, Spurs are still said to be looking to bolster a number of key areas.

And now one of the players who the Lilywhites are said to have their eyes on has now decided to leave his current club at the end of the term.

Tottenham target now looking to move on this summer

Since Postecoglou arrived at Hotspur Way, the Australian has made improving the defence a real priority.

The likes of Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have both been moved on since Postecoglou’s appointment, but there has also been a number of signings.

Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin and Ashley Phillips have all be added to the Tottenham backline over the last 12 months.

And the Australian has already admitted that he will be looking to add another centre-back in the summer transfer window.

So, Fabrizio Romano‘s recent update on the future of Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo will make for exciting reading in north London.

The Spurs News have previously shared detail of Tottenham’s interest in the soon-to-be free agent ahead of the summer window.

And now it has been confirmed by the transfer insider that Tosin has made the decision to depart Craven Cottage over the coming weeks.

Despite the Cottagers making several new contract offers, Tosin will now become a free agent with a number of clubs said to be interested in him.

What Pep Guardiola previously said about Tosin Adarabioyo

Prior to making his move to the capital, the 26-year-old was on the books at Manchester City.

The Englishman has gone on to make an impressive 132 appearances for Fulham over the years but now looks set to try something new.

Having left Manchester City with just eight appearances to his name, Pep Guardiola commented back in 2021 about the development he’d seen in the centre-back.

“First of all, I would like to say how happy we are all of us for what he’s doing,” he told the media.

“He’s a guy for the academy, finally, he took his position in the Premier League and we are more than delighted the level he’s showing. He deserves it, he’s an exceptional person and a good footballer.”
