The 42-year-old has had a lucrative career, from Sin City to Fantastic Four – she’s done most roles in Hollywood. But when Jessica Alba was starting out in Tinsel Town, she was kidnapped after a series of strange prank calls. The celebrity had barely had her foot in the door when the incident took place.
Jessica Alba was kidnapped at just 15
The blockbuster leading lady has taken a step out of the spotlight in recent years, spending her time focusing on the company she founded, Honest. Although she recently stepped down as Chief Creative Officer of the lifestyle brand. The movie star founded the company in 2012, and 12 years later, has decided to step back for ‘new endeavors’.
Despite her focus on the brand, she had already carved herself into showbiz.
Before her success, she had a scary incident on the set of her first show, Flipper, back in 1996.
She started received strange ‘prank’ calls at 15 which she believed were harmless.
But they took a dark turn when she was kidnapped from the set, and was missing for 14 hours.
Jessica Alba was found bound and gagged in the boot of a car after being kidnapped, luckily no further harm had been done. However, as she couldn’t provide strong details about who had been behind it, so the case was later dismissed.
The star hasn’t spoken much more about the scary ordeal, likely, wanting to keep it in the past, where it belongs.
Losing dear friend
The celebrity is currently dealing with the loss of a dear friend, who tragically died following a battle with colorectal cancer.
Jessica paid tribute to her pal, Michelle Hynek, on Instagram in an emotional post.
The mom-of-two had been fighting the disease for several years, and her passing has had an effect on the Entourage star.
Jessica wrote: “Michelle – you were the realest of all of Kelly Sawyer’s friends that I met 15 years ago. I was new to the friend group and you always felt like my kind of people – grounded, cool AF, hilarious, a bada** boss and kind.
“You fostered art and beauty and were fiercely protective of those you chose to work with. Raising everyone’s game around you and bringing along so many you believed in”.
The mom-of-two then explained she saved her life when Michelle asked her to get her health checked out by a doctor.
