'Player': Matty Cash seriously impressed by one Arsenal star's performance against Tottenham yesterday

Arsenal won out in the north London derby yesterday and Aston Villa’s Matty Cash was very impressed by one of Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Gunners raced into a three goal lead but were left hanging on at the end as Tottenham scored twice to ensure a nervy finish inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In the end, Arsenal held strong enough to see their rivals off and cue mass celebrations inside the away end.

For Mikel Arteta, is was another sign of his team being able to deal with the pressure of this title race and as it stands, it looks like it’s going to the wire.

Arsenal’s stars shine against Tottenham

Of course, key for Arsenal this season have been the additions of key summer signings like Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and David Raya.

All three were involved yesterday in big moments. Rice produced from the corner to set the third goal up which Havertz nodded home, while Raya made a huge error to allow Spurs back into the game.

But once again, the trio were mainly big positives for the Gunners. And when it comes to midfielder Rice, he once again showed his class and why they’d paid £100m for him.

The England midfielder has been a revelation since signing and after taking to Instagram to celebrate the win at Tottenham, Aston Villa star Matty Cash was quick to get in the comments and praise him.

Declan Rice could be Arsenal’s player of the season

It would be some achievement to be the top dog in this brilliant Arsenal team but there is a massive argument to be made that Rice is the man.

Since he signed in the summer – under huge scrutiny because of the price – he’s taken to playing for them like a duck to water and more.

Rice looks at home against the very best in the world and he’s shown for Arsenal and England that he is more than capable of not only holding his own, but outshining others as well.

When push comes to shove at the Arsenal player of the year awards, a number of stars like William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, and Ben White will have shouts for being the main man.

However, when all is said and done, it is Declan Rice who has had the biggest impact on this team.
