Two clubs from Saudi Arabia seemingly could be set to do West Ham United a truly massive favour this summer.
The emergence of the Saudi Pro league over the past year or so has led to some extremely big transfers, often involving England sides…but not West Ham as yet.
That could all be about to change though, after David Moyes made a terrible mistake in the transfer market a couple of years ago.
The Scot has a checkered history when it comes to transfers, hence the appointment of director of football Tim Steidten in the summer of 2023.
Some of his signings have been great whilst others have flattered to deceive.
The problem for a club with our finances is that we can’t afford to just write off bad signings and go again in the transfer window.
Manchester City, Chelsea and a handful of other top Premier League clubs can do that, but we can’t unfortunately.

Nayef Aguerd is one signing the Hammers clearly got very wrong. He’s not suited to Premier League football, and the sooner we can get him off the wage-bill the better.
Now it seems like we could be presented with a fantastic opportunity to do exactly that…
According to football journalist Ben Jacobs, Saudi clubs Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadsiah are interested in signing Aguerd this summer:
That will be music to the ears of Sullivan and Steidten.
With a big summer rebuild needed at the London Stadium, the opportunity to sell Aguerd for a big fee will be one that we cannot afford to miss.
The 28-year-old has been absolutely awful for us since joining the Hammers from Rennes for £30 million in the summer of 2022 (Sky Sports).
He’s clearly not suited to the robust and intense physical nature of Premier League football.
The sooner West Ham sell Aguerd the better, and Saudi clubs chasing his signature this summer will be a blessing in disguise.
