4-2-3-1: Manchester United predicted XI vs Crystal Palace, 25-year-old starts and Fernandes plays through injury - opinion

Manchester United are back on the road for a Monday night visit to Selhurst Park, here’s our predicted line-up for the match.

The Premier League campaign is coming to an end with just two weeks remaining and four games left to contend.

For many Manchester United fans, the end of this season will be a welcome one. This is due to how disappointing it’s been from start to finish.

However, it’s pivotal that Erik ten Hag gets his side into some form ahead of the trip to Wembley later this month for the FA Cup final.

How will Manchester United line up vs Crystal Palace?

As seems to be the case every week for United, injuries will once more play a large role in how Ten Hag lines his team up.

So with all the injury news available to us, here’s our predicted line-up.

Andre Onana

Missing just one game all season, there is no chance that Andre Onana will be dropped to face Palace.

A standout for much of the season as he’s turned his United career around after a worrying start to life in red.

Diogo Dalot

At right-back, it’s Diogo Dalot we see getting the nod as he looks to continue his great campaign which has seen him get player of the year shouts.

Dalot will be required to help out down the right to overcome the Tyrick Mitchell challenge but also in defence against Eberechi Eze.

Casemiro

Jonny Evans won’t be fit here and it’s also unlikely we see Lisandro Martinez return to the starting line-up.

This means Casemiro plays yet another game at centre-back.

Harry Maguire

Casemiro’s partner will be the only other fit centre-half and player who’s endeared himself to the fanbase this season, Harry Maguire.

Maguire has established himself as the first choice this season and one player who absolutely shouldn’t be sold this summer.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

On the left, Aaron Wan-Bissaka moves across from the right given that’s Palace’s most dangerous side.

He’ll have to be on his best form with Michael Olise and Daniel Munoz both dangerous down the right.

Kobbie Mainoo

Moving into midfield, there’ll be little surprise to see Kobbie Mainoo as one of the two deeper players.

He’s been a phenom this season and will come against England’s other hot young prospect in Adam Wharton for their first clash of many.

Mason Mount

Alongside Mainoo, there’s an injury to Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen shouldn’t be starting a game which promises to be high-tempo, so Ten Hag may need to hand Mason Mount a start.

Mount hasn’t had the best of seasons, but showing form late on could see him thrust into the starting line-up for the final weeks and the FA Cup final.

Antony

At right-wing, while it may be a mistake, it’s unlikely Ten Hag drops Antony after his goalscoring outing against Burnley last weekend.

Marcus Rashford remains injured which likely means Antony will start by default as Amad Diallo hasn’t earned the manager’s trust.

Bruno Fernandes

Despite being injured right now and Ten Hag admitting he’s a doubt, we’ve seen this before as Bruno Fernandes often plays through knocks and injuries.

So we expect that once again he’ll make a miraculous recovery to start here.

Alejandro Garnacho

On the left, we expect to see Alejandro Garnacho starting again in the absence of Rashford.

After a substantial rest period, Garnacho should be back at his best and with his main defender likely to be Nathaniel Clyne, he should have a successful day.

Rasmus Hojlund

Finally, in the striker position, Rasmus Hojlund starts as he looks to reach the 15-goal mark in his debut campaign.

Hojlund was poor against Burnley and will need to be at his best here given how solid Palace have been at the back lately.
