'I hope': International defender now says it would be a 'dream' to sign for Arsenal

Arsenal’s rise under Mikel Arteta has seen them become a more attractive destination than ever before and one young player from abroad has said he’d love to sign for the Gunners.

Arteta’s side are still in the title race, albeit Manchester City look in sublime form and in all likelihood, are going to prevent the Gunners from winning.

Regardless, summer plans for transfers are still ongoing for the Gunners and a number of new faces could arrive, while others could be sold.

Top stars like Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes, and more are being linked with a move to The Emirates.

However, it is a lesser known talent from Denmark who has been commenting on his wish to play for the Gunners.

That young man is 23-year-old right-back, Oliver Sonne.

Oliver Sonne says it would be a ‘dream’ to play for Arsenal

Speaking to TipsBladet about his future in the game, Sonne admitted that a move to Arsenal is something that really appeals to him.

“I would like to play in the Italian league or at Arsenal. It would be a dream for me, but I don’t know if it’s possible at the moment. I hope it can become a reality one day,” Sonne said.

Who is Oliver Sonne?

Remarkably, Sonne is very much in the early stages of his career but has already played in excess of 100 games for clubs like Silkeborg and HB Koge.

The 23-year-old has played more or less every game for Silkeborg this season and has a big advantage to his game in terms of versatility.

Per Transfermarkt, Sonne can play right-back, left-back, central midfield, and if needed, even further forward as more of a winger.

The talented youngster is very much seen as a rising star in Scandinavia but has actually been snapped up by Peru in terms of international football. Despite being Danish born, Sonne qualifies through family heritage and has already made a couple of appearances for Peru.

There are suggestions he could be available for less than £2m this summer as well.

Arsenal, then, could well take a no lose punt on Sonne and see if his talent matches his ambition.
