Tottenham coach absolutely loves what Guglielmo Vicario has now done at Hotspur Way

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has really impressed behind the scenes with what he has now done at Hotspur Way.

The signing of the Italian goalkeeper has proven to be a masterstroke by the Tottenham recruitment staff.

Guglielmo Vicario has already looked like one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League inside his first season in England.

Replacing Hugo Lloris was always going to be a difficult task for the Lilywhites considering how good of a servant he was for the club.

The Frenchman spent over a decade at Hotspur Way where he was able to make himself into a World Cup winner with his nation.

But Spurs have got it right with the 27-year-old Italian who is not just proving to be a hit on the pitch, but also off it.

And what he has just done at the Tottenham training complex has really impressed one of the club’s coaches.

What Guglielmo Vicario has just done to impress at Tottenham

It has been a really impressive first season for the Italian who arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a lot of questions surrounding him.

He may look like he has been playing in the Premier League for years already, but he arrived without too many fans knowing who he was.

But that is just testament to the improved recruitment system at Tottenham which has nailed a lot of the signings during Ange Postecoglou‘s tenure.

However, it’s not just what Vicario is doing on the pitch which is impressing with the Italian proving a real gem of a person off it too.

This weekend sees the Tottenham Women’s side take part in the FA Cup final against Manchester United.

And ahead of their trip to Wembley, Vicario was one of the men’s goalkeepers who paid a visit to the Women’s team with some words of encouragement.

The coach, Robert Vilahamn, told the media on Thursday, “All the goalkeepers were there [to wish us luck]. That was a nice gesture.”

It is just another example of how well the 27-year-old has taken to life in a new country and shows the class of the man.

This is not the first time Guglielmo Vicario has shown his love for Spurs

Signing the 27-year-old has proven a real coup by Tottenham with the Italian’s ability matching his passion for his new club.

Vicario told The Guardian that he would have signed his Tottenham contract in blood if he had to – that’s how keen he was to join Spurs.

However, he has also shown how well he has settled into the culture of the club with some other things he has done away from the pitch.

Vicario was also spotted attending a National League game as he showed his support for the on-loan Tottenham goalkeeper Joshua Keeley just a couple of months ago.

And the Italian even took a swipe at Tottenham’s north London rivals when he was awarded the London Goalkeeper of the Year Award.

It’s apparent there will be no concerns about the position between the sticks at Tottenham for years to come.
