Report: Crystal Palace will now have to battle European giants to sign “outstanding” £17m target

One of the most exciting targets that Crystal Palace have this summer is now also a target for some European targets.

If there is one position that Oliver Glasner will want to strengthen this summer, it’s the centre-half spot. Having implemented a back-three, it’s left the department stretched for numbers even at the best of times.

This has seen square pegs regularly slotted in, such as Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne, given Crystal Palace only really have three natural centre-backs and one of them has been out injured for ages in Marc Guehi.

So with that in mind, it makes sense that the Eagles are clearly prioritising centre-back but now it’s been reported that they’ll face heavy competition to sign one top target.

Maxence Lacroix now a target for AC Milan along with Crystal Palace

French defender Maxence Lacroix has been a name linked with a move to Selhurst Park over the past few weeks, but now Palace could actually face competition.

According to a report by Calcio Mercato, Lacroix also has a move to the San Siro and AC Milan potentially on the cards this summer.

The report continues to explain that Milan has met with the agents of Lacroix and the Milan sporting director is said to be obsessed with the Wolfsburg defender.

A fee of £17m is cited as being the amount that the Eagles would have to pay to make the “outstanding” Lacroix a signing this summer.

Confidence is likely high at Copers Cope over signing Lacroix as it’s been revealed he still talks to Glasner from time to time.

This summer is vitally important for Glasner

The past five games for Crystal Palace have been remarkable and almost a window into what we’d expected Glasner to implement long-term.

But to see the success he’s managed to achieve in such a short amount of time is incredible and makes the business we intend to do this summer all the more vital.

With some key players expected to be sold this summer, it’s pivotal that they’re replaced well.

For us if Palace are planning on selling Guehi, Lacroix is the ideal replacement to sign this summer, so hopefully, we beat Milan to his signature.
