Chelsea reportedly could deal West Ham major summer blow by signing 16 goal/assist winger

Chelsea could be set to deal West Ham United a very big blow in the summer transfer window it seems.

The upcoming summer transfer window will be a vitally important one for both Chelsea and West Ham United.

Incoming Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui plans to sign around six players this summer, with the addition of a talented and physically robust winger an absolute must.

And one of our key transfer targets is apparently now on the radar of Chelsea unfortunately.

According to a report from Fussball Transfers, Mauricio Pochettino wants Stuttgart ace Chris Fuhrich at Stamford Bridge – a player who West Ham director of football Tim Steidten is desperate to sign this summer.

That’s far from ideal, but Chelsea’s spending power won’t come into play this time at least…

Fuhrich has absolutely everything that we lack at West Ham right now.

So the fact that Chelsea have joined the race to sign him could represent a big problem for us this summer.

The 26-year-old left winger has been on fire for Stuttgart so far this season, with nine goals and seven assists to his name in 36 games (Transfermarkt).

He is a right-footed left winger but can also play on the right, or even through the middle as an auxiliary centre-forward if need be.

Standing at 6ft tall, Fuhrich is a physically robust player, and seemingly has all of the tools needed to succeed in the Premier League.

The Germany international possesses impressive pace, and has a direct playing style – something that we lack amongst our current crop of players in my opinion.

Fuhrich has a £17 million release clause (Sky Deutschland), so there is no danger of being blown out of the water by Chelsea in the race for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Let’s hope that Steidten manages to get this one done.
