Report: Rams Extend Cooper Kupp

After both Dalvin Cook and Alvin Kamara were extended just minutes before, it’s Cooper Kupp‘s turn. He earned a 3-year contract extension worth $48 million that keeps him in Los Angeles until 2023.

After signing Jalen Ramsey earlier this week, it seemed as though the Los Angeles had no cap space to sign Kupp. Well, like the Saints and Kamara, they managed to find cap space somewhere. The Rams had just a little over $6 million in cap space for this year and were $13 million over the cap for next year. Somehow, teams are managing to expose the salary cap.

Kupp’s average of $16 million per year comes in 12th in the league. That is a steal and comes behind Adam Thielen and Brandin Cooks. His contract also comes in above Jarvis Landry, Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, and Allen Robinson‘s as well. With Kupp now signed, Robinson has his eyes on Chicago’s front office as he has for weeks.

As a Packer fan that was hoping Green Bay could potentially scoop Kupp up in free agency next year, this stings. He is one of the most underrated receivers in the league. The Rams somehow have kept both Kupp and Ramsey. Now it’s time to make the most out of a championship window that seemed closed.
