Netflix's new podcast is designed to help your kids go to sleep

Time for bed, kids! Despite the best efforts of parents everywhere, it's not always that easy to get through to little ones when bedtime rolls around. To help children, and their parents, Netflix has released its own podcast. A podcast designed to be a substitute for bedtime stories.

You get home from work, already tired. You still have to prepare dinner, give the kids a bath and then it's already bedtime before you know it. Will it go smoothly or will there be protests? It's the routine for many parents, and Netflix has decided to do what it can to help out with a podcast dedicated to children.

The streaming giant is getting in on the podcast trend with "Bedtime Stories with Netflix Jr," a series of podcasts to help little ones fall asleep. Eight episodes are already available on different streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts.

With a runtime of between 10 and 15 minutes, the episodes deal with themes such as the importance of sleep and how to prepare for a good night's sleep. For the moment, the episodes are only available in English.

For Dr. Tina Bryson, a child development specialist who helped develop the podcast, these episodes help both parents with a new evening routine and help children to develop their imagination. Indeed, the episodes feature some of the characters found in Netflix children's series such as "Ada Twist, Scientist" and "Go!Go! Cory Carson." A way to make this moment, which can sometimes be a source of conflict, much more enjoyable.

Netflix previously announced the "Don't Look Up" behind-the-scenes podcast, and is already allowing some users to listen to its series in audio format.
