If you were surprised by Oklahoma State transfer Brandon Garrison‘s abrupt commitment to Kentucky, you’re not the only one. In fact, his high school coach, Lenny Hatchett of Del City (OK) had no idea things were trending in the Wildcats’ direction until the very end beyond surface-level phone calls and Zoom meetings. Up to that point, most of the conversations had been centered around the likes of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and even a potential return back to Stillwater under new head coach Steve Lutz — formerly of Western Kentucky. Hatchett tried finding the right balance of helping make conne...

Big Blue Nation had to make it through an entire day on Monday without landing a commitment. After a busy weekend of loading up on Lamont Butler, Otega Oweh, and Andrew Carr the Wildcats turned their focus to a pair of visitors. Both Great Osobor and Koby Brea came to campus on Sunday evening for their respective official visits. However, Tuesday morning’s commitment didn’t come from either one of them. In fact, it came from someone who hadn’t visited campus at all. Coach Pope landed Brandon Garrison over Arkansas and various other suitors in what was a bit of a surprise commitment. This staff...

This morning we got a surprise commitment in the form of Brandon Garrison, a 6’11” center from Oklahoma State. The 2023 McDonald’s All-American had been on the Cats’ radar for a few weeks, but many thought he would choose Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Texas. Instead, he will wear Kentucky Blue for potentially three seasons, a considerable win for Mark Pope and his new staff, namely Alvin Brooks III. Kentucky wasted no time in making Garrison’s commitment official. The program just released a press release featuring quotes from Pope on the addition. As Pope points out, both he and Brooks got an up-clo...

Another transfer portal name has surfaced in connection with the Kentucky Wildcats. As first reported by On3’s Joe Tipton, head coach Mark Pope is looking to bring in Oklahoma State transfer center Brandon Garrison for a visit to Lexington. He could visit Kentucky as soon as next weekend, a source tells KSR, although nothing is currently set. Tipton also notes that Arkansas head coach John Calipari is trying to bring Garrison in for a visit, as well. Could we have our first Pope-Calipari battle...
