It’s been just over two weeks since Kenny Brooks and Kentucky women’s basketball have added to their roster after a red-hot start. That doesn’t mean it’s time to hit the panic button or anything, but it’s been a little bit since we’ve gotten news on that front. However, that could change very soon. A source tells KSR that Kentucky has made contact with Charlotte transfer Dazia Lawrence. Additionally, the Wildcats are very much “in the mix” to land the First-Team All-AAC member. The 5-foot-8 guard averaged a career-high 18.2 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 2.7 APG, and 1.8 SPG on 42.6% shooting from the field in...

The NBA announced its list of 195 players — yes, 195 in a draft with 58 picks — that have filed as early entry candidates for the 2024 NBA Draft. Among them? Several names of interest for the Kentucky Wildcats, both past and future. We’ll start with the most recent roster under John Calipari and the guys we knew were gone already: Reed Sheppard, Rob Dillingham and Justin Edwards. Interestingly enough, those were the only three names released by the league who played at Kentucky this past season. That means DJ Wagner, Adou Thiero, Ugonna Onyenso and Aaron Bradshaw — all players who claimed they...

Three commitments in three days. The transfer portal has turned roster building into a 24/7 news cycle and Big Blue Nation is experiencing that firsthand this “offseason.” Kentucky’s roster doubled from three to six scholarship players in just over 48 hours from Friday to Sunday. First, it was Lamont Butler’s somewhat surprise commitment. Then, Otega Oweh made his announcement on Saturday. Finally, Andrew Carr joined the family on Sunday following his weekend visit. You can check out all of our KSR Film Room breakdowns with corresponding YouTube videos via the links below. Lamont Butler: Film ...

When Cody Fueger logs online, the Big Blue Nation knows that good news is on the way. Fueger, now an assistant coach at Kentucky after following Mark Pope to Lexington from BYU, hasn’t made any public appearances since taking the job, but the fanbase already loves him. And how could they not? Fueger teases the BBN with incoming commitments just hours before they actually happen, adding even more fuel to a fired-up group of fans still hungry for good news. It’s gotten to the point where Kentucky supporters are waiting on pins and needles for Fueger to drop a “Boom” GIF on social media. He’s don...

This morning we got a surprise commitment in the form of Brandon Garrison, a 6’11” center from Oklahoma State. The 2023 McDonald’s All-American had been on the Cats’ radar for a few weeks, but many thought he would choose Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Texas. Instead, he will wear Kentucky Blue for potentially three seasons, a considerable win for Mark Pope and his new staff, namely Alvin Brooks III. Kentucky wasted no time in making Garrison’s commitment official. The program just released a press release featuring quotes from Pope on the addition. As Pope points out, both he and Brooks got an up-clo...

Koby Brea was expected to be the next pledge for Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats — and then Oklahoma State’s Brandon Garrison shook up the college basketball world with a surprise commitment Tuesday morning. The former McDonald’s All-American took visits to Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas, but never saw Lexington. Just a day removed from his official to Fayetteville, though, the 6-11, 245-pound big man out of Oklahoma City decided to wear blue and white as a Wildcat. Garrison appeared in 32 games for the Cowboys with 29 starts, averaging 7.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in 22.7 minutes per contest...

The transfer portal closes at midnight but the Wildcats’ work is far from finished. Kentucky is making a move for a defensive lineman who’s become a popular player over the last ten days. Jay’viar Suggs is a 6-foot-3, 295-pound defensive lineman from Division II Grand Valley State. He entered the transfer portal on April 21 and has since received scholarship offers from 37 schools. Kentucky entered the mix over the weekend and made a significant impression early in the process. A source tells KSR that the Wildcats are expected to host Suggs for an official visit. He recently completed a trip t...

How about our first real curveball of the Mark Pope era in Lexington? He threw it and the pitch landed in the form of Oklahoma State center Brandon Garrison. On3’s Joe Tipton was the first to break the news on Tuesday. The 6-foot-11 freshman and former McDonald’s All-American chose the Wildcats over Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas, among others. He averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game this season for the Cowboys. Coming out of Del City (OK) High School, Garrison was considered a four-star recruit and a top 50 prospect from the class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry Ra...

Good morning, friends. It’s another busy day at the Kentucky Basketball and KSR offices as two very important visitors check things out and consider futures as Wildcats. Utah State forward Great Osobor arrived on campus Sunday night with his family for an official visit. Last night, Dayton sharpshooter Koby Brea joined him. Osobor has been on Kentucky’s radar the longest. The 6’8″ 250 lbs. big from Great Britain is considered the fifth-best available player in the transfer portal by On3 and earned All-American Honorable Mention from the Associated Press after averaging 17.7 points and 9.0 rebo...
