Newly announced details of a post-Brexit border check system has drawn criticism from businesses and trade bodies in the UK, with a warning that it could inflate food prices and lead the closure of several small businesses. European countries have nearly doubled their arms imports between 2014-2018 and 2019-2023, boosting their purchases by 94% in the period observed, according to a new study by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
