Five days after pitching a no-hitter, Nebraska baseball's Jackson Brockett was showered with accolades Monday. He also enjoyed a special date with history. The junior lefthander from Omaha was named national pitcher of the week by D1Baseball and Perfect Game, and he was also named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week. Nebraska Cornhuskers pitcher Jackson Brockett stunned the Kansas State Wildcats during a midweek game, earning a no-hitter. For head coach Will Bolt, it was a special performance to watch. Jackson Brockett did something Wednesday night that no Husker baseball pitcher had done in 70 years: pitch a nine-inning, complete-game no-hitter. Making his first start of the season, Brockett posted a career-high 12 strikeouts on 107 pitches in Nebraska's 8-0 win over Kansas State. Finally, some midweek success for Nebraska baseball, and some history to go along with it. NU got a complete-game no-hitter Wednesday from junior lefthander Jackson Brockett. The Huskers beat Kansas State 8-0 at Haymarket Park in Lincoln. Brockett had pitched just 5.1 innings this season ahead of Wednesday's start. He notched 12 strikeouts on the night, a nice feather in the cap next to tossing Nebraska's first nine-inning no-hitter since 1954 and the sixth no-no in program history.
