'Really worried': Alan Shearer is now deeply concerned for Nottingham Forest

Alan Shearer has now been explaining why he’s deeply concerned for Nottingham Forest as the season reaches a climax.

The pundit has been speaking on this week’s edition of The Rest is Football podcast.

So, what has Shearer said exactly – and why is he so worried for Forest? Let’s take a closer look…

What Alan Shearer has said about Nottingham Forest

Well, Shearer won’t be the only one who is now getting concerned for the Premier League future of Nottingham Forest.

The Reds have won just one of their last eight games – and were beaten 1-0 by Brighton in a drab affair on Sunday.

Forest desperately need to win a game or two in succession soon and frankly, time is running out for the Reds to get their act together.

Shearer has been sharing why he’s now worried for Forest this season and admits he would be worried as a fan.

He toldThe Rest is Football podcast: “They’re in a rut, aren’t they? You’d be really worried if you’re a Forest fan with what’s going on there. The performances and there’s no confidence it’s a worrying time for them.”

Shearer was quick to leap to the defence of Forest last weekend. He went against the grain of the other pundits and slammed referee Paul Tierney after his error in the defeat to Liverpool.

Shearer is spot on about current City Ground situation

For most Forest fans, there will be a sense that Shearer is spot-on regarding the current situation.

The Reds look like a team that is now scared to death of the potential points deduction hanging over them.

Forest could be set to find out their punishment before Friday and Luton could be above the Reds before that huge clash between the sides at the weekend.

The Reds desperately need to go back to basics and Nuno Espirito Santo has to get his team up for the next huge game.

Forest really don’t want to be going down this season but if they don’t get their act together soon that’s exactly what they will be doing.
