'It didn't quite work': Nuno admits he made a big mistake last weekend in Nottingham Forest defeat

Nuno Espirito Santo has confessed that he made a mistake last weekend as Nottingham Forest lost 1-0 to Brighton to make it three successive Premier League defeats.

The head coach has been speaking ahead of this weekend’s game with Luton.

So, what has Espirito Santo said that he got wrong during last week’s Forest defeat? Let’s take a closer look…

What Nuno Espirito Santo felt he got wrong as Forest lost to Brighton

Well, it would appear as though Espirito Santo is willing to throw his hands in the air and admit defeat when it comes to the changes he made last weekend.

He went with an extra man in midfield to try and stifle Brighton but instead, he stifled the attacking intent of his own team.

It didn’t work out for Forest and they ultimately succumbed to a 1-0 defeat – with Espirito Santo now holding his hands up following the game.

He told the club’s officialYouTube channel: “Of course, I would change.

“After the game, it’s always easy to say that you should have changed. But, the plan was clear – we wanted to control the middle of the park by putting an extra midfielder there and it didn’t quite work out.

“For large spells of the second half, we were much better, more dominant and more aggressive with more pace.”

Forest need to bounce back against Luton this weekend

This is a Premier League fixture that frankly needs no bigging up for either team, with plenty at stake for both.

If Forest win, they will be guaranteed to go above Everton, with the Toffees not in action this weekend.

Should Luton claim the win, Espirito Santo will see the Hatters go above his Forest team and plunge them into deep relegation trouble.

It’s good that Espirito Santo admits that he’d like to have his time again from that game and hopefully he will nail it tactically this weekend.
