Micky van de Ven has lauded one of his Tottenham Hotspur teammates after his latest display for his country.
Tottenham have plenty of key players in action during the international break, with a few getting some minutes under their belts this weekend.
The break has arguably come at a good time for some of Spurs’ fringe players who have barely featured under Ange Postecoglou in recent weeks.
Indeed, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg played 80 minutes for Denmark on Saturday and Giovani Lo Celso also featured for Argentina.
The latter played 73 minutes off the left wing as La Albiceleste beat El Salvador 3-0, netting a well-taken goal in the process.
Van de Ven amazed by Lo Celso’s latest display for Argentina
Lo Celso took to Instagram following Saturday’s win and posted a video of his goal.
The Spurs midfielder played a brilliant give-and-go on the edge of the box before placing the ball into the bottom corner with the outside of his left boot.
And it led to praise from a couple of his Tottenham teammates, with Micky Van de Ven and Brennan Johnson both leaving comments beneath the post.
Cristian Romero scores for Argentina
As well as Lo Celso, Romero was also on the scoresheet for Argentina in their win over El Salvador.
The 25-year-old netted with a well-taken header from a corner and continued his decent scoring run this term.
Romero has netted four goals in 23 Premier League games for Spurs from centre-back this season and has struck up a brilliant partnership with Van de Ven.
It was brilliant to see both Spurs players getting on the scoresheet and it should only benefit Lo Celso to get some much-needed minutes under his belt.
The £42 million man hasn’t started a game for Tottenham since New Year’s Eve after picking up a muscle injury.
Admittedly, the return of James Maddison has also led to limited minutes for the Argentine but he received brilliant reviews from the media on his return to action on Saturday.
