Report: Arsenal could now replace Emile Smith Rowe with £25m man previously compared to Cesc Fabregas

It seems Arsenal are making haste of this international break establishing some key targets for the coming summer transfer window.

Although they’ll be focused on the monumentally important tie against Manchester City a week today, Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar must have afford some time to shortlisting potential targets.

It’s thought that Arsenal will once again be in a strong financial position to strengthen their squad in the summer, having almost laid dormant in January.

Perhaps a striker will be seen as the main priority, even if Kai Havertz is now putting to bed a lot of the noise that surrounded the club in January.

But with it seeming likely that Eddie Nketiah will depart in the summer, Arsenal may look a little short if they don’t decide to add.

A new centre-back will also be needed to boost numbers at the back, perhaps someone who can effectively provide back up and competition for William Saliba.

However, it is a new midfielder Arsenal are now showing interest in according to the Daily Star.

Arsenal could now target Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White in summer

According to the Daily Star’s information, Arsenal have now shortlisted Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White as they look to revamp their attack.

The same report explains that Emile Smith Rowe ‘is facing an exit’ from the club and the Forest captain could be his replacement.

Some fans may wonder just how much of an upgrade that move would represent, however, Gibbs-White is clearly a big talent.

It’s now thought that Forest may be forced to sell a star this summer if they continue to struggle with profit and sustainability rules.

And although the club would surely look to make a profit on the £25m they paid to sign Gibbs-White, a deal may still present value for interested clubs.

Interestingly, Danny Murphy did previously say back in 2018 that Gibbs-White reminded him of a young Cesc Fabregas.

He said: “He glides past people so effortlessly. Against Tottenham when I first saw him, he was passing the ball in the middle of the park like Cesc [Fabregas].”

Certainly one to keep an eye on, and judging by the different variety of players said to be Arsenal targets, it could be a busy summer indeed.

All that being said, one Arsenal international left Gabriel Magalhaes and Antonio Rudiger blown away yesterday.
