After Mainoo, another Man United youngster will make his full debut for his country tonight - journalist

It seems as though Kobbie Mainoo won’t be the only Manchester United youngster who will make his first start for this country tonight.

It’s been widely reported that Gareth Southgate will start Mainoo when England face Belgium this evening, a real chance for the young midfielder to show his credentials alongside Declan Rice.

Gary Neville recently thought that the 18-year-old should be starting in the pivot to allow Rice better freedom in an England shirt, and it seems that idea will now be given a chance.

Mainoo clearly has so much talent in his game, and his minutes against Brazil on Saturday again proved that he does have the mentality to match.

According to Sofascore, Mainoo didn’t lose possession once in his minutes, completing 100% of his 20 passes.

Clearly a player who England could benefit from at this summer’s Euros, perhaps even in a starting role.

That being said, it seems as if United’s other big young hope, Alejandro Garnacho, will also make his first start for Argentina.

Garnacho does already have four caps for his country, but could begin a game for the first time from the start.

That’s according to journalist Gaston Edul who shared the update late last night.

Edul took to X to share the news, saying Garnacho will be a starter when Argentina face Costa Rica.

He simply said: “Alejandro Garnacho would start for the first time in his career with the Argentina national team.”

Of course, it’ll certainly be an interesting evening of football to follow for Manchester United fans, with both Mainoo and Garnacho starting for the respective countries tonight.

Those same fans will also be keeping everything crossed that both return fit and injury free, as is the case at every club with an international break at this point of the season.

Erik ten Hag must believe that his squad are capable of stealing fourth position if they can keep everyone fit and go on a run.

That being said, it seems Man United have identified their ideal candidate to possibly replace Ten Hag this summer.
