Report: 23-year-old Chelsea player expected to start third Premier League game of 2024 tonight vs Everton

Reports have shared one Chelsea player who is expected to start in tonight’s Premier League clash against Everton.

According to the Evening Standard, one Blue could be named in the starting line-up in the league for just the third time in 2024.

Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure to get a result tonight as their hopes at qualifying for Europe continue to fade away.

Pochettino adds Fernandez and Sterling to injury list

The boss has a number of injury concerns to deal with, adding Enzo Fernandez, Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling to the already long list of players unavailable.

With the latters absence, there may need to be a change in attack, especially if Conor Gallagher is forced to play deeper in the absence of the World Cup winner.

One player who may be about to benefit is Mykhailo Mudryk, who has found appearances in the Premier League hard to come by this year in particular.

He has made just two starts in the competition this year, with them both coming in the last three games.

Mykhailo Mudryk predicted to start for Chelsea

Regular minutes are clearly needed for him to develop to the potential many at the club believe he has, although reports have predicted him to be named in the starting side tonight.

It remains to be seen if this place in the side comes at the expense of Noni Madueke, who was the standout player in their most recent game.

His stunning goal looked as if it was going to gift the Blues all three points, however their soft underbelly saw them concede late on again.

A win tonight is imperative to keep their hopes alive at securing some sort of European football for next season, and keeping them in the conversation for signing some of the biggest players in the game in the upcoming transfer window.

Tonight remains another opportunity for Mudryk to show he deserves a more regular starting birth.
