Moyes insulted West Ham player during Fulham loss with real slap in the face in bizarre moment

One West Ham United player must be feeling extremely low this morning, after a decision from David Moyes during the defeat to Fulham yesterday.

West Ham were beaten comfortably by Fulham yesterday afternoon, as David Moyes watched on helplessly from the sidelines.

Bizarrely, the Scot once again blamed the three day turnaround from Thursday for the defeat, despite the fact that it’s not different from playing on Wednesday and Saturday.

The 2-0 loss to the Cottagers kind of felt like the end for our top seven hopes this season. Newcastle seem to have found some form again whilst Chelsea have three games in hand on us.

That’s such a shame because things looked so bright for us at the turn of the year. However, a shocking January transfer window has left our squad extremely undercooked.

Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals were let go without being replaced, whilst the loan signing of the hapless Kalvin Phillips has been an unmitigated disaster.

Meanwhile, the Scot has continued to ostracise certain players on the outside of this preferred starting XI, for no apparent reason.

And one of them would have been absolutely fuming yesterday…

West Ham player treated terribly by David Moyes during Fulham defeat

With Fulham leading 2-0 late on, Moyes just seemed powerless, or clueless really, to change things and get us back into the game.

The fact that he doesn’t have anyone he trusts on the bench to come on and impact a game is his own fault.

He was offered numerous top tier players in January, but didn’t want any of them (Claret and Hugh).

However, there is one player at the club who, if given a consistent run of games, could make a difference for us.

Maxwel Cornet has been completely ignored by Moyes this season, with just 326 minutes of action in all competitions to his name (Transfermarkt).

He has endured a really frustrating campaign with the Hammers. However, yesterday was a new low for him.

Moyes brought the 27-year-old on in injury time during West Ham United’s defeat to Fulham – just an utterly farcical decision. Why not give him 20 or 30 minutes to try and make an impact and get us back in the game?

The fact that the Scot brought Cornet on with just a few minutes remaining would have been an insult to him.

He’ll definitely leave the club in the summer, I have no doubts about that. I just find Moyes’s treatment of him utterly bizarre.
