Wolves’ injury crisis worsens

Despite a successful campaign, Gary O’Neil’s season has been derailed by a consistent amount of injuries to his first team. Matheus Cunha, Hwang Hee-Chan and Pedro Neto have been the most notable names missing.

It looked like last weekend this would finally be coming to an end. Cunha and Hwang both played a part in the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.

However, in his recent press conference, O’Neil confirmed that Cunha would be out for the Arsenal tie with Nelson Semedo also set to be on the sidelines.

Wolves’ next task is Arsenal. O’Neil’s side are set to host the title contenders on Saturday night in front of the TV cameras.

There arguably isn’t a better time to play the Gunners after their defeat to Villa which was quickly followed up by Bayern Munich’s triumph in the Champions League. However, with the current injury crisis and Wolves badly out of form, fans are not optimistic.

Ahead of the tie, Chris Sutton has attempted to predict the winner believing that it will be a close game at Molineux.

A new striker is a must in the summer. For the second half of the campaign, Wolves have only had Cunha as a senior striker with youngster Nathan Fraser being used as a backup.

This has come back to bite Wolves, with Cunha’s injury causing plenty of issues up top.

With hopes that a striker will come in soon, the club have now been linked to Union Saint-Galloise striker Mohammed Amoura according to Foot News. The attacker has netted 22 goals in 40 matches and could be exactly what Wolves need.
