'This time it is...' Chris Sutton gives honest prediction ahead of Wolves v Bournemouth

Wolves will have their eyes fixed on Wednesday night’s duel with Bournemouth at Molineux, with pundit Chris Sutton sharing his predictions on the Premier League fixture.

Gary O’Neil will hope to see his Wolves side beat Bournemouth on Wednesday evening, as the former Cherries boss seeks revenge on the club that cruelly sacked him last summer.

Despite the baffling decision for the south coast club to banish O’Neil, the Englishman has not looked back since arriving at Molineux, with his work in the Midlands telling the fascinating story of Wolves’ ability to strive amid adversity.

While the Old Gold were victorious in their battle against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium back in October, the manager will be carrying less confidence into Wednesday’s duel due to the squad’s current injury crisis.

On the back of recording a host of impressive results to pair outstanding performances, Wolves’ lack of squad depth has finally caught up with them, as O’Neil leads his side into the game against the Cherries having not won in their last five league fixtures.

Chris Sutton shares honest prediction ahead of Wolves v Bournemouth

It will certainly be a difficult game to call, as, despite Wolves’ poor form, the Midlands club have put in admirable performances against the odds with their wilted squad.

Last time at Molineux against Arsenal, the Old Gold showed no fear of Mikel Arteta’s Premier League leaders, falling short to two goals at the end of each half and battling the Gunners with a heavily depleted XI.

Taking to his BBC column, pundit Chris Sutton has shared his thoughts on Wolves’ chances against Bournemouth, predicting that the tie has one result ‘written all over it’.

Wolves won when they met on the south coast in October but back then Bournemouth had not got going under new boss Andoni Iraola, and were still waiting for their first league win.

‘This time it is Wolves who are short of form, and they have not won any of their five league games since being knocked out of the FA Cup by Coventry.

‘The Cherries have not won in three games either but their performances have still been pretty solid and I can see them getting something here – this game has got a draw written all over it.’

Sutton predicted the game to end in a 1-1 draw, a result that would see Wolves’ run without a win extended to six in the Premier League.

Wolves will have to dig deep to beat Bournemouth on Wednesday night

It’s a fair annotation of the game from Sutton, with Wolves certainly wanting to be heading into the fixture with more players, confidence and form.

Against Arsenal, a list of O’Neil’s starting XI was absent, seeing Joao Gomes play on the wing, academy star Tawanda Chirewa earn his full Premier League debut, and Mario Lemina eventually come into play as a striker.

While the Cherries will pose less of a challenge than the Gunners, the manager will still have to juggle key absences, in what will be another game for Wolves to show their resilience in the run-in to the end of the season.
