Duo facing late checks, Bernard returns: Predicted Sheffield Wednesday XI v West Brom - opinion

Sheffield Wednesday host West Brom in their final home game of the season this weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday play their final home game of the season when West Brom head to Hillsborough on Saturday.

The Owls go into this game outside of the relegation zone for the first time under Danny Rohl, following an impressive 3-1 win at Blackburn Rovers last time out.

That win has thrown West Brom’s Midlands rivals Birmingham City into the drop zone; they sit just one point behind Wednesday and head to 23rd place Huddersfield Town for a huge relegation crunch match on Saturday.

West Brom meanwhile are up in 5th place of the Championship table and have a three-point buffer inside the top six, having lost their last two games now.

Speaking in his press conference on Thursday, Rohl revealed that Di’Shon Bernard is now back in full-training.

Defenders Bambo Diaby and Michael Ihiekwe have also trained this week, after both sustained injuries last weekend.

Elsewhere, Juan Delgado remains a long-term absentee for the Owls, though he’s recently returned to training and could be in line to feature at the start of next season.

Momo Diaby has also not featured since mid-March now and doesn’t look likely to come back into contention anytime soon.

How will Danny Rohl line up against West Brom

After such an impressive result and well-rounded performance against Blackburn last time out, expect a largely unchanged team, if not a completely unchanged line up.

If available to start, expect Bernard to return to the XI, especially if the likes of Diaby and Ihiekwe can only start on the bench this weekend.

One change further up the pitch that Rohl could ponder is bringing Djeidi Gassama into the XI after he started on the bench vs Blackburn.

But it seems unlikely that either Josh Windass or Anthony Musaba lose their place, with both coming up with big moments in that game.

Here’s how we think Sheffield Wednesday will line up against West Brom this weekend…
