Person in Scotland misses out on nearly £58 million lottery win

A person in Scotland has missed out on a lottery jackpot of just under £58 million.

The winner has failed to come forward in time to claim their winnings and it is set to become the largest prize to ever go unclaimed in the UK.

The ticket was purchased for the March 17 draw but remain unclaimed for as the deadline passed on Sunday (13.09.20). The money is set to go to charity as a result.

A spokesman for Camelot, the company that runs the National Lottery, said: "With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize.

"If a valid claim is not received within this period, the prize money is passed to good causes."
