Kenny Brooks has very clearly been a busy man since he got into Lexington. On Saturday, we learned that Brooks extended his first 2027 offer, and he continues to look to build for the future. On Sunday, it was announced that Brooks and Kentucky had offered 6-foot-1 2025 guard Bryn Martin. Martin currently holds offers from the likes of Iowa, Ohio State, Louisville, and Virginia Tech, among others. On top of that, she has visited Xavier, Pitt, West Virginia, and Wake Forest as well as several other schools. Martin is certainly one of the most highly coveted guards in the high school junior clas...

Despite the fact that Kenny Brooks is currently in the middle of trying to round out his first team at Kentucky, he’s also making time for recruits down the line. While we’ve already seen Brooks offer Maddyn Greenway, a 2026 prospect, we have yet to see him go as far as the 2027 class. However, that changed this weekend. On Saturday, it was announced that Kentucky had offered 2027 guard Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka. Wilson-Mackyana is one of the top overall players in the ’27 cycle as she is listed in ESPN’s 2027 Watch List. The list is compiled of the top 25 overall prospects in the class. This pas...

Immediately following his hiring, Kenny Brooks hit the ground running in Lexington. Before he took the Kentucky job, Brooks was in the middle of building a top-10 recruiting class at Virginia Tech. As expected, he managed to flip just about all of his commits and even brought over some of their roster. In his first year at Kentucky, Brooks has established that he’ll be looking to recreate the magic he had in Blacksburg. Of course, building a roster from scratch is difficult. Only two players from last season’s roster, Cassidy Rowe and Saniah Tyler, are returning. It does help that Tanah Becker...

Saniah Tyler has made it official: she’s returning to Kentucky women’s basketball for the 2024-25 season. The rising junior announced the news through social media on Wednesday afternoon. Along with fellow rising junior Cassidy Rowe, she and Tyler were the lone pieces from the end of the Kyra Elzy to not put their name into the transfer portal. During her sophomore season in 2023-24, Tyler took a massive leap in production, averaging 10.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 26.8 minutes per game for the Wildcats. The 5-foot-6 guard started 13 of 32 games she appeared in last season while shooting 34.3 ...

With last year’s Kentucky women’s basketball team, there just weren’t a whole lot of talented depth pieces available. Sure, Maddie Scherr and Ajae Petty carried a lot of the load, but they’ve both gone to different schools now. Beyond them, the rest of the team was far too inconsistent offensively to be considered serious and viable scoring options. If Scherr and Petty weren’t clicking, the whole team wasn’t clicking. Additionally, six of Kentucky’s top seven scorers from last season are gone now. Emma King ran out of eligibility, and everyone else ran out of town. So, who’s that lone player r...

After spending the 2023-24 season back in her home state, Brooklynn Miles is headed to the northeast. On Saturday, Miles announced on social media that she will transfer to the Pittsburgh Panthers. The 5-foot-5 point guard started 27 of 32 games played for Kentucky women’s basketball this past season under former head coach Kyra Elzy. Miles averaged 5.8 points, three assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 29.8 minutes per game while shooting 38.8 percent from the floor. Miles, who was named 2021 Miss Kentucky Basketball before spending her first two college seasons at Tennessee, will have on...

Oregon State transfer Talia von Oelhoffen cut her list down to four on Friday, Kentucky joining USC, Louisville and Colorado among finalists. How did UK head coach Kenny Brooks respond? By bringing the 5-11 guard to Lexington for a visit Saturday morning, of course. The All-Pac-12 honoree made the trip to Kentucky where she sat down with Brooks and his staff for breakfast to hear their recruiting pitch, one that included a very special guest: Rajon Rondo. Von Oelhoffen shared some photos from Saturday’s meeting where she was seen FaceTiming the former Wildcat star and four-time NBA All-Star wi...

Talia von Oelhoffen was named All-Pac-12 at Oregon State this past season. Now in the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining, she’s considering Kenny Brooks and the Kentucky Wildcats. Von Oelhoffen, who went into the portal on April 2, creatively announced her four finalists on Friday, which included Louisville, Colorado, Southern California, and Kentucky. The 5-foot-11 guard posted a graphic of her top four with the popular video game Fortnite as the theme and a caption that read “where we droppin?”. Von Oelhoffen’s social media game is clearly top-notch, but her on-court game...

Kenny Brooks‘ first coaching staff in Lexington is nearing completion. On Thursday morning, Brooks announced that he has hired Josh Petersen as an assistant coach of Kentucky women’s basketball. Petersen comes over from Miami (FL) where he spent the last two seasons as an assistant with the Hurricanes, including the program’s Elite 8 appearance in 2023. “I can’t express how excited I am to learn from one of the most admired and respected coaches in the game, Kenny Brooks,” Petersen said in UK’s press release. “To be on this staff and at the University of Kentucky is an absolute dream.
