On Sunday night Oregon punched its ticket into the super regionals. The Ducks battled with UCSB a second time over the weekend to advance. The 3-0 victory was fueled by a dominant pitching performance from Kevin Seitter. The senior pitched a complete game shutout to give Oregon the win. Seitter only gave up 4 hits and struck out 8 batters to secure the victory. Oregon jumped out to a 1-0 lead then added runs in the 5th and 7th innings. Another Oregon target is set to come off the board in the coming weeks. Sunday evening Archbishop Riordan (Calif.) athlete Chris Lawson announced he will make his commitment on June 21. The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder announced his three finalists: Oregon, Washington and Cal. Of the three, Cal currently has the best odds according to the On3 RPM. Oregon kicks off its 2024 season with a home game against Idaho on Aug. 31. It would appear Dana Altman isn’t done in the transfer portal just yet. Late Wednesday CBSSports hoops insider Jon Rothstein posted the Ducks would host Miami transfer Wooga Poplar next week. A specific day was not given for the visit. The 6-foot-5, 197-pounder is considered a shooting guard. He started 29 games for the Canes last season, only missing 2 due to an ankle injury. On Thursday morning CBSSports hoops insider Jon Rothstein announced Oregon center N’Faly Dante was denied his appeal by the NCAA.
