24-year-old Chelsea man can send message to Todd Boehly on Saturday if he plays against Man City - opinion

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly was at the Blues’ Carabao Cup final defeat to Liverpool in February and has another chance to go to Wembley this weekend.

Chelsea take on Manchester City this time in the FA Cup semi-finals, hoping that their trip to the England national team’s stadium ends differently to their last one.

With some players coming back from injury, Mauricio Pochettino will have some big decisions to make.

One man will definitely be hoping to start and with the club thought to be open to selling him and Todd Boehly possibly in attendance, this could be his chance to prove himself.

Who could Chelsea sell this summer?

Because of profit and sustainability rules, there could be quite a few exits at Stamford Bridge when the transfer window opens.

The first casualty could be Conor Gallagher despite his importance to the side right now.

Gallagher has made more than 40 appearances for Chelsea this season, but his contract running down obviously makes the midfielder a candidate to go, as the club will want to avoid the risk of losing him for free.

Gallagher is also homegrown, coming through Chelsea’s academy system, meaning that the Blues can make pure profit on him.

The same applies to Trevoh Chalobah, who has reportedly been told that he will be transfer listed this summer.

Should Chalobah actually be sold? Earlier in the season, not too many Chelsea fans probably would have cared.

However, since returning from injury, the 24-year-old has shown his value, starting the Blues’ last two Premier League fixtures. In total, he has made nine appearances under Pochettino.

Chalobah can start in central defence or at right-back and is a player who his manager is fully utilising right now.

If the former England U21 international starts at Wembley on Saturday or comes on and has a good game against top opposition like City, Boehly may have to rethink his plans for him.
