‘Incredible’ Wolves target shares interesting verdict on his future ahead of the summer - report

Wolves target Alvaro Valles has shared an interesting update on his future amid links to Gary O’Neil’s side.

Wolves are poised to entertain an interesting summer in the transfer window, as Gary O’Neil desperately seeks reinforcements to bolster his limited squad.

The manager took charge of Julen Lopetegui’s wilted side just days before the start of the 2023/24 season, with the knowledge that the Spaniard had departed due to his concerns over the lack of depth.

In what has been a campaign of defying the odds for the former Bournemouth boss, it’s only been recently that the 40-year-old has seen the detrimental effects of having limited numbers, with Wolves’ current injury woes impacting their form.

O’Neil has been open with his ploy to encourage Fosun to support him and the club financially in the summer, with reinforcements desperately needed, and one already identified.

Alvaro Valles would be a good signing for Wolves

Recently lauded as “incredible” by journalist Zach Lowy, the Las Palmas sensation has been stealing the headlines for his displays in the Spanish top flight this term.

As highlighted by a graphic created by Sofascore, no keeper in La Liga averages more clearances per game than Valles, as well as the Spaniard being ranked as the second-best keeper in the league for his average of 6.79 goals prevented this term.

Scouting site Breaking The Lines described the keeper as being ‘indispensable’ for Las Palmas, making him a particularly interesting player for Wolves to target.

With Jose Sa currently standing as O’Neil’s firm number one, there could be a shift between the posts this summer, with a talent like Valles not likely to arrive at Molineux with the understanding of being second-best.

It’s an interesting link to follow between club and player, particularly now that he has made his future aspirations beyond this campaign clear.
