Zoe Ball has announced her mother has died in an emotional open letter to her mom on social media.
The radio host confirmed her mom had died on Instagram on Wednesday, featuring a photo of her mother, Julia, in her younger years. The celebrity told fans she had been diagnosed with cancer last month, a matter of weeks ago. Zoe Ball also shared her final photo of her mother when they took a family vacation to Antigua in January.

The star, who also appeared in TV shows like Celebrity Gogglebox, Strictly Come Dancing, Can’t Touch This and children’s show SMart, took to social media to announce the news overnight.
It comes after reports Zoe Ball’s mother had been taken to a hospice earlier this week as her health deteriorated. The radio host played a Bon Jovi song as a thank you for paramedics who helped her. She told fans at the time it was “pretty tough at the moment” for the family.
The broadcaster revealed her mom had died last night in an emotional post.
She wrote: “Sleep tight, dear Mama.
“Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy. And how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts.
“We are bereft without you but will hold so tight to each other. Your grace and your smile that lit up every room you were in, will light the stars to guide us.”
After Zoe announced her mother’s cancer last month, a fellow host ‘stepped in’ from time to time for Ball, so the two could spend time together.
‘Today I say goodbye’
Zoe Ball’s son Woody – who she shares with music star Fatboy Slim – paid a tribute to her mother as well.
He wrote: “Today I say goodbye to Granny J, thank you for being a wonderful woman.”
He also shared a photo of his grandmother from her youth.
Woody, from Netflix show The Circle, also spoke about her late husband Rick Peckham.
He added: “The only person who always sent me a Valentine’s card. I know you’re with Rick now, give him a hug from me.
“I know the said once when you were panicking in a helicopter over the Jungle, ‘If you get lost, follow the river! You’ll find him at the end'”.
