What has Arne Slot said about Liverpool job?

Namely, that Slot is indeed interested in becoming Liverpool manager, and that the Reds and Feyenoord are in talks over a deal.

On Thursday night, Romano took to X with a tweet carrying quotes Slot said to ESPN.

“I’d like to become new Liverpool manager, my decisions is clear,” said the Dutchman.

“Feyenoord and Liverpool are in talks to negotiate, I’m waiting to see what will come out of it

“I am confident, waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement.”

This is quite the statement for Slot to make, and it shows that Liverpool are heading in the right direction.

Normally it’s difficult to get a top manager on board at the business end of the season, as the top clubs are still competing for the biggest honours.

However, in Feyenoord’s case, they’ve already won the Dutch Cup this season, and they’re nine points behind Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven with just four games to go.

With Slot confirming that he wants the Liverpool job and that the two clubs are talking, it confirms much of the speculation. Now we wait and see what happens.

What has been said about Liverpool target Arne Slot?

Feyenoord’s Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who used to play for Brighton & Hove Albion, has had some very kind things to say about Slot.

“During my time at AZ, as assistant coach, Arne Slot, was one of the people who helped me to become a better player,” he said in 2021 following his move to Feyenoord, as reported by The Argus.

“So when he called and asked if I wanted to come to Feyenoord, I told him I was going to do everything I could to make this transfer. I had no doubts.”

Meanwhile, The Athletic has quoted Jahanbakhsh as saying: “He is one of the best managers I’ve ever seen. In football terms, even the best. At the moment, he is the best in the Netherlands.”
