The likelihood of four Premier League clubs signing £11m Nottingham Forest star - ranked

Nottingham Forest star Murillo is going to be a wanted man in the summer transfer window. Now, it appears that no fewer than four Premier League clubs are monitoring the player.

Forest landed Murillo amid intense interest from Manchester City but some new suitors have now emerged. Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle are the new parties, according to the Daily Mail.

So, just how likely is Murillo to leave Forest and what are the chances he signs for one of these Premier League clubs? Let’s take a closer look…

The likelihood of Murillo signing for one of four Premier League clubs – ranked

Arsenal

The Gunners are a club on the up and it’s fair to say that if they win the Premier League title this season, Murillo would surely jump at the chance to leave Forest for Arsenal.

On his days off from Forest, Murillo can often be spotted seeing the sights in London on his Instagram. As a result, the capital would surely come into his thinking if it came to leaving the club.

Mikel Arteta is renowned for placing his trust in young players. Stars like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli have thrived under his management.

Taking everything into consideration, we think that Murillo would surely fancy a move to Arsenal – and playing Champions League football would mean they would have plenty of cash to spend.

Likelihood of Arsenal signing Murillo from Forest: Looks like a real possibility – 8/10.

Chelsea

Again, the Blues being in London would likely see the player’s ears prick up if push comes to shove and Murillo has to leave Forest.

The 21-year-old is perhaps less likely to sign for Chelsea, with Todd Boehly and Mauricio Pochettino likely to try to sign more experienced – and already proven players instead.

However, there are a couple of factors that might see Chelsea entertain a bid. For starters, this season has seen the Blues favour younger players in the team and that might lead them to Murillo.

Also, the club won’t be in Europe so attracting the top players could prove tricky, whilst Brazilian stalwart Thiago Silva is also likely to leave the club in the summer.

Likelihood of Chelsea signing Murillo from Forest: We can’t see this one – 4/10.

Liverpool

This would be the absolute worst-case scenario for Forest fans to contend with should Murillo head to Merseyside.

Forest and Liverpool fans had a fierce rivalry in the 70s and 80s and after Paul Tierney made a mistake to give Jurgen Klopp’s men a late win the other week, the fire has been stoked again.

Murillo would likely fancy a move to Liverpool from Forest, however. The club will be in the Champions League and at this stage, they might go into the new season as the reigning Premier League champions too.

There is a question, however, over whether Murillo feels like a Liverpool signing. The Reds have a wealth of talent already in defence and perhaps other positions will be targeted.

Likelihood of Liverpool signing Murillo from Forest: Seems very unlikely – 2/10.

Newcastle

This one is perhaps the most intriguing link of all given that Newcastle do have money but they fall into the category of needing to cut their cloth accordingly still.

Newcastle typically don’t find it easy to attract players to the north of England. However, if the money is right and the Magpies can get themselves into Europe, Murillo might fancy the move from Forest.

Eddie Howe is another manager who has worked wonders with the young players at Newcastle. The centre of defence might be an area of concern for them in the summer and it’s no surprise they’re linked with the player.

With financial fair play watching clubs intently at the moment, Newcastle might still take a shrewd stance in the transfer market. As a result, landing Murillo from Forest is a deal that does feel doable.

Who else is interested in Murillo?

Clubs across Europe will be interested in Forest star Murillo. It’s been claimed that PSG and Barcelona are courting the player and it’s going to be fascinating to see how much profit Forest can get.

Atletico Madrid have been linked with Murillo before. Diego Simeone loves a central defender who can be strong in the tackle, yet carry the ball out from the back and that is Murillo down to the ground.

Could Murillo stay at Forest?

The chances of that look to be very slim at this moment in time. It’s no secret that the club will need to sell players whatever happens this season and Murillo would command a huge transfer fee.

Morgan Gibbs-White, Taiwo Awoniyi and Anthony Elanga would likely have suitors too and hopefully, Forest can get away with only selling one of their star players in the summer.
