West Ham could now be without 7 players for Bayer Leverkusen as fate conspires against Moyes

West Ham United play host to Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League quarter-final second-leg tomorrow night, and David Moyes has numerous problems on his hands.

David Moyes has a huge task on his hands, if West Ham are to overturn a two-goal deficit against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League at the London Stadium.

The Scot has numerous injury concerns ahead of the match tomorrow night. In fact, Moyes’s options are so limited that Maxwel Cornet could even get a start against Leverkusen!

The Hammers have been in terrible form since the start of the year, with just four wins from our last 20 games in all competitions.

The performance against Leverkusen in the first-leg last week was one of our worst all season, and was labelled as ’embarrassing’ by West Ham journalist Jacob Steinberg.

It’s an obvious thing to say that we will have to be miles better tomorrow night, if we’re to have any chance of progressing through to the semi-finals of the competition.

The West Ham boss has to take the game to the visitors, and if we get the London Stadium rocking then who knows what could happen?

However, Moyes may well be working with one hand tied behind his back…

West Ham boss Moyes could now be without 7 players for Leverkusen

The game in East London tomorrow is a vitally important one for us, and it is undoubtedly our biggest clash of the season so far.

Leverkusen are a tremendous side, and it’s no exaggeration to say that they’re one of the very best sides on the continent right now.

As if facing the Bundesliga champions wasn’t a hard enough task already, Moyes has a severely depleted squad at his disposal at the moment.

We have avoided injuries all season really, right up until the last month or so. It’s the worst time for this to happen, and you have to feel sorry for Moyes whether you support him or not.

So, here’s the list of seven players who could be missing from action tomorrow night…

Lucas Paqueta and Emerson Palmieri will definitely miss out through suspension, whislt there are five players who are big injury doubts.

Jarrod Bowen, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Alphonse Areola, Kalvin Phillips and George Earthy are all rated as doubtful for the Leverkusen clash.

To have seven first-team players unavailable for the game of such magnitude will obviously be a major blow for us.

The odds are stacked against West Ham for the Bayer Leverkusen clash, and David Moyes must be cursing his luck.

Let’s just hope that a few of the players mentioned above are fit enough to take part against the German side.
