'Big task': Dom Howson warns Sheffield Wednesday of one major threat in West Brom's squad

Sheffield Wednesday have a very ‘big task’ ahead of them this weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday are in decent form, having gone three games unbeaten and claimed eight points from a possible 12.

The Owls have climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time since the opening day, while their safety is now completely in their hands going into the final two games of the campaign.

With a spectacular home crowd behind them, Wednesday will be brimming with confidence as they host the Baggies this weekend.

It certainly feels like a winnable fixture, with Carlos Corberan’s side having won only one of their last six matches in the Championship. They have also only won two of their previous eleven games on the road, both coming against relegation rivals.

West Brom are struggling at the minute, but they will be desperate to win as they look to land themselves a place in the play-offs.

West Brom’s ‘attacking talent’ is a real concern

Danny Rohl‘s team will have form on their side, but they have now been warned that the Baggies’ ‘array of attacking talent’ cannot go ignored.

Writing on X, journalist Dom Howson said: “Big task facing #SWFC this weekend. WBA have got an array of attacking talent in Grady Diangana, Mikey Johnston, Jed Wallace, Tom Fellows and John Swift. Owls will have to be at it to get a result. Pressure is on WBA, too, in the play-off fight with Norwich and Hull.”

Sheffield Wednesday can’t slip up now

West Brom have scored significantly less goals than the rest of the teams in the top six, but that isn’t to say Sheffield Wednesday’s defence don’t need to be at their best.

Brandon Thomas-Asante is set to return from suspension and will be looking to add to his 12 goals, while Diangana, Johnston, Wallace, Fellows and Swift all have five goals or more this term.

They put seven goals past Plymouth and Huddersfield in their last two games on the road, and they will be eager to put in a similar performance at Hillsborough.

It seems very unlikely that the Owls would put on such a performance, but their focus and attitude can’t change now that they are out of the relegation zone. Their challenge is far from over.
